Mellow Velo is an informal group of cyclists who enjoy cycling in the countryside in their leisure time. We organise day and weekend trips to share this pleasure with others. Most rides start from railway stations but we share cars or hire a van where no train service is available.
Most of us are based in the Edinburgh area but the cycle rides can be anywhere in Scotland or Northern England. Rides vary from 30-60 miles a day (averaging 40) with café and sightseeing stops. Accommodation is in Hostels or B & Bs.
The pace is relaxed – we are not a racing club! In fact we are not a formal club at all, although many of us are also members of organisations such as Spokes or the CTC. The rides are open to everyone, contact the organiser to book.
Mellow Velo has a Yahoo group.
The yahoo group is the easiest way for folk to reach each other by e-mail. To join you need a yahoo_id and password. The link will take you to the group if you have a Yahoo ID and to the Yahoo registration process if you do not.
Mellow Velo has a Friends' Section.
To join the friends' section you must first Register and you must have been on at least one ride. You will be able to see the membership list and post notices onto this section of the site. There is now also a paypal facility.
This year we are again featuring the Borders Brake-away programme.
